Picture quality is excellent, the sound is good and it's an easy VCR to use. This Best Buy VCR from Panasonic uses S-VHS tapes for superior picture quality, though it can play regular VHS recordings too. It also has Scart loopthrough, which allows you to link your set-top box, via the VCR, to your TV - handy if you don't have two Scart outputs on your set-top box. This eliminates the need to program the video directly, but is compatible only with certain digital set-top boxes, such as Sky and some of the latest Freeview boxes. Scart link recording lets you program recordings via the set-top box's electronic programme guide. It's a good choice for use with a set-top box. Its picture quality is good and it has excellent sound, too. This Best Buy from Panasonic is one of the easiest VCRs to use. Which? tested 18 models and only recommend two - both Panasonics - the NV-HV61EB (£90) and NV-SV121EBS (£150) Have you/they thought about a combined VCR and DVD player (or even recorder)? That's what I am looking for but information is thin on the ground - one thing I did read is that their video pictures tend to be fuzzier than the best VCRs.
